It is funny how the Martin Labor Government makes much ado about things they intend doing bugger-all about – like public drunkenness – but keep its real agenda, like speed restrictions, out of any election campaign. Hopefully, the new road safety regime, with increased policing and penalties for infringements such as drink driving and failure to fasten a seat belt, will lower the road toll. Either way, it will be interesting to see how the statistics stack up with the Territory’s open road laws out of the equation
