Murphy's column 19th August was an excellent summary of the pathetically inept train wreck that IS the Martin Labor Government. They have hired at least 2,500 extra public servants since coming to power. At a "conservative" EXTRA ANNUAL cost of around $250 Million, this should be seen by all thinking Territorians as scandal of Whitlamesque proportions. The Martin Labor Government's atrocious record of excessive regulation, massive over-manning and incompetent management seems to be going unnoticed by an increasingly apathetic "southernised" electorate. Clare Martin has allowed our Territory to become a clone of the failed labor states of New South Wales and Victoria.

We are located in Darwin, capital of Australia's Northern Territory. Our part of Australia is known as 'The Top End' - but there's more to the Northern Territory than Darwin.

If you would like to learn more about the Northern Territory we recommend a visit to www.ntholidays.com or www.nttc.com.au

We take inspiration from Charles Darwin the British Naturalist. Charles Darwin is remembered for his theories of evolution and natural selection. Darwin's research formed the basis for his famous book 'On the Origin of the Species by Means of Natural Selection' (published in 1859). The text aroused a storm of controversy and went on to reshape the modern world. His work had a tremendous impact on religious thought at the time. He was an extraordinary scientist and man. He was equally adept as a naturalist as he was a geologist although he had no formal training in the latter. Darwin dared to challenge current and conventional views - he had an inquiring mind. The City of Darwin, capital of Australia's Northern Territory was named after him. He never saw Darwin as he died in 1882. Our site is dedicated to his memory, his intellect and courage to push back the frontiers of research.

We are not associated or affiliated with Charles Darwin University (formerly NTU) or the Charles Darwin Symposium.
